There are moments in life when everything we thought we could depend on suddenly disappears. Our health can fail. Our finances can fall apart. Friends can walk away. People we trusted can disappoint us. Even our own strength can reach a point where we have nothing left to give.

We live in a world that constantly tells us we need more. More money. More possessions. More success. More recognition. We are taught to measure our lives by what we own, what we accomplish, and what other people think about us.

But the writer of Hebrews points us toward something far greater than anything this world can offer.

He reminds us that our security does not come from what we possess. It comes from the One who possesses us.

God makes a promise that is powerful enough to carry us through every season of life:

“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

Think about those words for a moment. God does not say He will stay with us only when we are faithful enough, strong enough, or good enough. He does not say He will remain beside us only when life is going well.

He says, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

That is a promise we can stand on when the ground beneath our feet begins to shake.

Today, I want us to look at three truths found in these two verses: learning to be content, trusting God’s presence, and living without fear.
