Our scripture today comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
That verse sounds beautiful… but if we are honest, it can also sound impossible.
It’s easy to give thanks when life is going well. When the bills are paid, when the doctor gives a good report, when relationships are strong, when the sun is shining. Gratitude comes naturally in those moments.
But what about the hard times?
What about when life hurts?
When prayers feel unanswered?
When loss, disappointment, or uncertainty shows up at the door?
